Until now, planetary exploration has largely been done by wheeled ground vehicles, which show limited mobility when it comes to unstructured terrain and sloped areas. Besides challenging surface conditions, the environment of low-gravity celestial bodies involve a unique set of unknowns, which an exploration robot has to handle. In order to overcome limitations of existing vehicles, research groups around the globe have started to exploit the possibility of applying legged systems for space exploration. . click here

THE FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY AND ROBOTICS IN SURGERY
Robotics in surgery has been widely implemented, but in some cases, there are many doubts regarding its clinical benefit and cost utility. The future of surgery lies in the fulfillment of four main conditions: safety, access, efficiency, and efficacy. Innovation and technology should help to accomplish these conditions, but it must not be the center of surgical practice. We present here our perspective on the main issues related to technology and robotics focusing on evidence-based surgery. click here
Origins of Robotic Surgery: From Skepticism to Standard of Care
The most prominently available multipurpose robotic surgery system with US Food and Drug Administration approval is Intuitive Surgical Inc.'s da Vinci Surgical System, which is found in operating rooms across the globe. Although now ubiquitous for minimally invasive surgery, early surgical robot prototypes were specialty focused. Originally, multipurpose robotic systems were intended for long-distance trauma surgery in battlefield settings. While there were impressive feats of telesurgery, the marketable focus has veered from this goal. Initially developed through SRI International and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, surgical robotics reached private industry through two major competitors, who later merged. . click here
Information Technology and Organizational Learning
studies that apply organizational learning conceptsto the process of implementing and using information technology in organizations; and studiesconcerned with the design of information technology applications to support organizationallearning. From the former stream of research, we conclude that experience plays an important, yet indeterminate role in implementation success; learning is accomplished through both formaltraining and participation in practice; organizational knowledge barriers may be overcome bylearning from other organizations; and that learning new technologies is a dynamic processcharacterized by relatively narrow windows of opportunity
Progress and Development Trend of Space Intelligent Robot Technology
Since space intelligent robots are not restricted by physiological conditions, it is an attractive choice for the development of automation technology to use them for space exploration and utilization. It is currently the key development direction of the major space powers over the world. This paper first investigates the robotic manipulators and humanoid robot systems for space station applications and reviews theories and methods for robots to achieve large-range stable motion and intelligent dexterous manipulation
The dual role of humanoid robots in education: As didactic tools and social actors
Our study explores teachers’ perceptions of a learning activity in which a child plays a digital mathematics game together with a humanoid robot. The activity is based on the idea of learning-by-teaching where the robot is designed to act as a tutee while the child is assigned the role of a tutor.
Robotic technology in surgery: past, present, and future
This article provides an introduction to medical robotic technologies, develops a possible taxonomy, reviews the evolution of a surgical robot, and discusses future prospects for innovation. Robotic surgery has demonstrated some clear benefits. It remains to be seen where these benefits will outweigh the associated costs over the long term. In the future, surgical robots should be smaller, less expensive, easier to operate, and should seamlessly integrate emerging technologies from a number of different fields.
Leveraging Technology to Improve Health in Adolescence: A Developmental Science Perspective
As technologies continue to evolve at exponential rates, online platforms are becoming an increasingly salient social context for adolescents. Adolescents are often early adopters, savvy users, and innovators of technology use. This not only creates new vulnerabilities but also presents new opportunities for positive impact-particularly, the use of technology to promote healthy learning and adaptation during developmental windows of opportunity.
Technology and Data Implications for the Public Health Workforce
The article identifies where the technology and data sectors can contribute skills, expertise, and assets in support of innovative workforce models and augment the development of public health workforce competencies.
